SMLC Preschool is now hiring for the position of Director. We are seeking a caring, experienced Preschool Director to lead our early Childhood program. Job Title: Preschool Director
Job Summary:
The Preschool Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and daily operations of the preschool. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations. The Director oversees staff, curriculum implementation, family engagement, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Administration
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the preschool program
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and standards
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records and reports
Staff Management
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise teachers and support staff
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
Curriculum & Program Development
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood standards
• Monitor classroom activities to ensure quality instruction and care
• Support teachers in lesson planning and classroom management
Family & Community Engagement
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians
• Address concerns and communicate regularly about children’s progress
• Promote the preschool within the community and support enrollment efforts
Financial & Operational Oversight
• Manage budget, tuition collection, and expenses
• Oversee enrollment, scheduling, and classroom ratios
• Ensure facility maintenance and classroom readiness

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred, not required
• 3–5+ years of experience in early childhood education, including leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of child development principles

Our teachers are required to have Federal & State background checks, CPR, First Aid, AED training, Fire Safety, active shooter and ongoing early childhood education training. Teachers take additional training through Pro Solutions Training.

Welcome to St. Matthias Lutheran Church Preschool!

*Age-Appropriate activities:
-Sensory Play

-Develop a love of reading by enjoying a variety of books offered in our classrooms, Teachers reading daily to the children, and Phonics activities!
*The children will find joy through music, that will include singing, dancing, instruments, and more!
* Physical Movement will help the children fine-tune their motor skills and spatial awareness skills!
*Art activities that will also help with their skills and imagination!
-Immunization records are required for enrollment to our program.
SMLC Preschool is a faith-based program. Developmentally appropriate activity centers and equipment will be available in all of our early learning classrooms. Our vision is to be a place where young children can play & learn in a faith-based environment and where "ordinary can become extraordinary" through age-appropriate & hands-on activities.
- Our classroom teacher-to-child ratios are lower than the state-required ratios. Room placement is based on your child's age as of September 1, 2026.

$335/month
